Softball Wins Twice At Michigan State

Casey Hanes tossed a one-hitter on Sunday.
The Wayne State University softball played the final two games of its fall season this afternoon at Michigan State and came away with a pair of victories, 1-0 and 3-1.

In the opener, senior Casey Hanes tossed a one-hitter, while Stephanie LeClair tripled in pinch-runner Makelle Barski in the top of the seventh for the lone run.

In the nightcap, Nicole Abel (winning pitcher) and Sam Cain (earned the save) combined on a seven-hitter.  Becca Ryan drove in the first run with a double, while Alison Allen's two-run single made it 3-0.

WSU will begin its 2010 campaign at the University of Alabama-Huntsville Charger Chillout in Decatur, Ala., the weekend of Feb. 19-20-21.

Women's Swimming and Diving
Won three individual national titles at the NCAA Championships ... defended her titles in the 500 and 1000 freestyles, and also won the 1650 freestyle ... claimed six First Team All-America honors ... helped the Warriors achieve a second-place finish overall.
