Dear Warrior Nation:
What an exciting time it is to be a Wayne State Warrior. The seasons are changing, its getting colder outside, and the heart of the football season is here. We definitely put on a show
Saturday at Homecoming.
Without a doubt it was the most exciting game I have ever participated in. To come out the second half the way we did was something I know I'll never forget, and I hope it was the same for all the fans.
I wish all of you could of been in the locker room with us as we celebrated our victory after the game. It was the most excited I have seen us in a while, and it sounded as if there were thousands of us screaming our heads off.
Hats off to the Sorority Kappa Delta who decorated our locker room and gave us all a bag of goodies...(They were delicious).
Everything that surrounds Homecoming is what makes it special. We knew though that all of the activities were good for the school, program, and the athletic department, but also knew that all of it would mean so much more if we came out of the game with a big W.
Joique's amazing catch and run with a minute left definitely was the cherry on top to Homecoming 2009.
I thought the game was going to come down to me kicking a FG... Thank you offense for not giving me a heart attack.
After the game, the tailgate was jam packed with some of the best (FREE) food you can get. It's always an awesome time just sitting around with everybody and eating especially after a win. Thanks Mr. Burrell and The Guy family for my 10 pound weight gain at the tailgate.
Sunday is always a laid back day. It is a good day for corrections and putting the last game, win or lose, in the past. Offense and Defense came in at their lifting times and Coach Harker and Coach Cook ran us through a normal circuit workout which makes you feel pretty good after a tough game.
After lifting, our locker room becomes a theatre. We all
sat around and watched our beloved Lions and Tigers win and lose... (I think you know what team did which.) Film sessions came next which is a good way to make corrections and learn from our mistakes.
Going out to the field and walking through some things was our final duties of the day. For all of us,
next Saturday can't come quicker. Monday
is another day for us to get better. But for now I have to go. It's only about 10PM (on Sunday evening) and I'm getting tired! I'll probably end up on Facebook though...
See you tomorrow people!
