The Kickers' Diary Day Four

Daily Blog this week by WSU kickers

Good evening Warrior Football Fans! (From Wednesday Evening)

Well, it's Wednesday… aka, hump-day.

I woke up this morning a little tight/sore from the lift yesterday.  Those squats and a set of leg press will definitely get you.  No worries though, once I started walking around campus and going to class, I felt fine and the tightness/soreness worked itself out.

Today was a beautiful day; sunny, not to cold, and only a few clouds out, a great day for practice.  Unfortunately, I have two evening classes today so I don't make it out for the Wednesday practice.  I heard it was a good practice though, a good work day in preparation for Saturday.  Today we practice in shells, just helmet and shoulder pads.  This allows us to stay fresh and healthy, 11 games doesn't seem like much, but it is a grind and really takes a toll on your body, especially in the middle weeks of the season.  The light middle days of practice allows us to stay not only physically fresh, but mentally fresh as well.

Well that's about it for today.  I would like to give a shout out to my good friends James Gale, Chad Fuller, and Rob McLaren.  They started our student section called the "Matthaei Maniacs."  The Matthaei Maniacs have been a lot of fun to have at our home games this year and really help add to the atmosphere of our games.  After an absence of many years, it is great to have a marching band again at Wayne State.  Between the two, Warrior football games have a great college football feel to them.  Games were already fun to participate in, but the student section and band just adds to the excitement, I can only imagine how fun it is to watch.  Thanks a lot guys, the school spirit is awesome, and I know the guys on the team appreciate your support.

Also, the new WSU athletics webpage is sweet, wsuathletics.com, thanks a lot to everyone who helped put it together, it looks awesome!

Well good night everyone, next time we talk I'll be all the way up in Marquette and we'll be preparing for what is sure to be another exciting, tough football game.

GO WARRIORS!!!!
