Warrior Pitcher Chosen For Baseball Ontario Award
Hurley to receive Fergie Jenkins Pitcher of the Year honor

DETROIT - Wayne State University sophomore pitcher Billy Hurley (Mississauga, Ont./St. Aloysius Gonzaga) has been selected to receive the 2009 Fergie Jenkins Adult Pitcher of the Year award, presented annually by Baseball Ontario.  He will be honored at an awards gala in conjunction with Baseball Ontario's 93rd Annual General Meetings on Saturday at the at the Sheraton Toronto Airport Hotel.

Hurley helped his club team, the Mississauga North Tigers, win the OBA championship and represent Ontario at the Junior National Championship in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec. He was also a member of the Ontario Team which won a bronze medal at the Canada Summer Games in Prince Edward Island.  He started and won the opening game of the tournament against New Brunswick.

A transfer from Binghamton University, Hurley is entering his first season this spring as a member of the WSU baseball program.
