A Wayne State record 23 football players were named to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) All-Academic team. The Warriors are coming off their third winning season in the last four campaigns and the 2009 senior class had the most wins in a four-year period of any class since 1978.
To be eligible for all-academic status, the student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0, on a 4.0 scale, and must not be a true freshman or first year transfer.
