WSU Football Signing Release

DETROIT--Wayne State University head football coach Paul Winters has announced his 2010 recruiting class, consisting of 17 incoming freshmen.

“WSU is proud to announce the signing of 17 student-athletes to NLI’s,” stated Winters. “We are very happy that this group of prospective student-athletes have chosen to pursue their college education at Wayne State. These are proud Warriors! Our coaching staff has worked very hard to bring in young men who will compete equally as hard to earn a degree as they will to win championships on the field! We searched the entire state and into Ohio to bring another outstanding class to Detroit, Michigan to represent Wayne State! We want to thank the Wayne State community, President Noren, the Dean’s, Professors and our student-athletes for making our campus open and inviting to these young men.”

Wayne State has added depth to the offensive line with five commitments: center Garret Davis (Ypsilanti, Mich./Willow Run), guards Thom Box (Milan, Mich.) and Dan Gear (Southgate, Mich./Anderson), along with tackles Kevin Micheli (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty) and Ben Walker (Oxford, Mich./Lake Orion). In addition, Mike Komor (Whitmore Lake, Mich.) will be a long snapper and offensive/defensive lineman.

Also joining the Warrior offense will be tight end Joe Biernat (St. Clair Shore, Mich./De La Salle), quarterback Sean Guinane (St. Joseph, Mich.), wide receiver Charles Holmes (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester) and running back Desmond Martin (Redford, Mich./Thurston).
