Casey Hanes (Richmond, Va./Douglas Freeman), who earned her bachelor's degree a year ago and is currently enrolled at WSU in the Sports Administration master's program, has been voted to the CoSIDA/
ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American Second Team.

Hanes selection marks the fourth WSU softball player to be recognized with CoSIDA Academic All-America accolades joining Renette Mulka (Second Team Catcher) in 1989, Jennifer Smith (Second Team Pitcher) in 1992 and (First Team Pitcher) in 1993, and Shannon Clark (Second Team Infielder) in 1993.
The Warrior hurler is currently leading NCAA Division II in ERA (0.53), while ranking second nationally in both wins (42) and shutouts (19).
WSU will make its second appearance in the D-II College World Series tomorrow (Thursday, May 27) with a 6 p.m. Eastern contest against Hawaii Pacific.
