Former Wayne State University right-handed pitcher Anthony Bass (Trenton, Mich.) was featured in a recent story on Padres.com, as he continues to perform well for the Class A Lake Elsinore Storm in the San Diego Padres organization.

Bass, who leads all California League starters with a 3.04 ERA, has a 7-5 record in 19 starts.  He has racked up 79 strikeouts with only 19 walks.

A fifth-round selection of the Padres in the 2008 Major League Baseball draft, Bass was a midseason all-star last year while pitching for the Fort Wayne TinCaps before being promoted to Lake Elsinore.  He also made a spot start at Triple A Portland earlier this season.
