The Wayne State University women's hockey program will be holding an open tryout on Saturday, Sept. 18 at the City Sports Center in Detroit.

Anyone interested in attending must be enrolled full-time (at least 12 credits) for the Fall 2010 semester at Wayne State. In addition, players must bring proof of insurance and present proof of a physical exam within the last six months.

Jim Fetter enters his eighth season as the Wayne State University head women's hockey coach in 2010-11. A three-time recipient of the College Hockey America Women's Coach of the Year Award, he was also a finalist for the American Hockey Coaches Association Women's Division I Coach of the Year Award in 2006 before earning the award in 2008.  Fetter has 109 career victories including 46 conference wins.
