Former Wayne State University golf student-athlete Steve Cuzzort (Grosse Ile, Mich.) qualified for his first Nationwide Tour event and will tee off at 2:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon in the Mylan Classic, presented by CONSOL Energy.

Cuzzort will start from the No. 10 tee at Southpointe Golf Club in Canonsburg, Penn., playing with Chesson Hadley and Dennis Dolci.  The threesome will begin the second round Friday at 9:20 a.m. from the No. 1 tee.

The Mylan Classic, a new 72-hole stroke-play event on the Nationwide Tour this seasons, will feature 156 players from 19 countries competing for a purse of $600,000. The Golf Channel will provide coverage of all four rounds in the United States.

Cuzzort, who transferred to Wayne State from Michigan State for his senior season in 2008-09, was an All-American and the GLIAC Men's Golf Athlete of the Year.  He posted a season-average of 71.313, the lowest recorded average in program history, and was the medalist at both the 2008 GLIAC Championship and the 2009 NCAA Super Regional.
