Wayne State University head baseball coach Ryan Kelley discussed the 2011 Alan Trammell and Lance Parrish baseball camps in an Oct. 12 podcast on wsuathletics.com.
Benefits of the morning Fundamentals Camp session include station and drill work, with fundamental emphasis on all aspects of the game of baseball including pitching, catching, infield and outfield play, baserunning, and hitting.  There will also be segments involving injury prevention and conditioning tips.  In addition to major league baseball standouts Trammell and Parrish, camp staff will include the WSU Baseball coaching staff and the 2012 baseball team which qualified for the NCAA Tournament last year.

The afternoon High School Prospects Camp will also feature Trammell and Parrish with the entire WSU staff.  Anyone from a freshman in high school or a senior looking to take the next step in his baseball career will have an opportunity to catch a glimpse of what the experience of a collegiate student-athlete is like from the perspective of the Wayne State University baseball program.  Participants will receive specific feedback pertaining to speed, velocity, and baseball development.  This camp will feature a tremendous experience to learn from Trammell, Parrish, and the WSU coaching staff.

Parrish was an eight-time MLB All-Star, a three-time Gold Glove winner, and a six-time Silver Slugger award winner.  He also won a World Series title with the Tigers in 1984.  Parrish also has extensive major league baseball coaching experience.

The Fundamentals Camp is open to aspiring players from grades 2-12 and costs $100 per person.  The High School Prospects Camp is available for high school students grades 9-12 and also costs $100 per person.  High school students are eligible to attend both camps.  Registration can be completed online, in person or by mail.
