DETROIT -- Wayne State University Director of Athletics
Rob Fournier announced today the hiring of Lisa Donaldson as assistant athletic director for compliance and NCAA Liaison.
“Lisa's background includes a thorough knowledge of NCAA legislation and the practical experience to effectively interact with various constituencies to facilitate compliance oversight,” said Fournier.
“Her association with a number of respected compliance programs provides the varied approaches that will benefit this department. I look forward to her expanded role as an assistant athletic director moving our agenda and our initatives to provide our student-athletes a better environment to be successful.”
Donaldson joined the WSU staff after serving as the compliance coordinator at Ball State since 2008. Prior to going to BSU, Donaldson was the director of compliance at Coastal Carolina University from 2006-08.
Before joining the Coastal Carolina staff, she was a compliance department intern at Eastern Michigan University during the 2005-06 school year.
After graduating from Arizona State University in 2002 with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies Business Management and Exercise Science, Donaldson earned a master's degree in Sports Administration from EMU in December of 2005. She also served as the head gymnastics coach at Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor from 2003-05, helping the 2004 squad to a conference co-championship.
She was a presenter at the 2011 National Association for Athletics Compliance (NAAC) convention on the topic of Lessons Learned/Sports Specific Administrators. She is a member of both the NAAC and the National Association of Collegiate Women's Athletic Administrators (NACWA).
Donaldson was a member of the North Carolina State gymnastics team from 1993-95, where she began her studies in business management.
She is a 1993 graduate of Ann Arbor Community High School.
