Blaszczyk Named Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Promotions


DETROIT -- Wayne State University Director of Athletics Rob Fournier announced the hiring of Nicole Blaszczyk as assistant athletic director for marketing and promotions.

“Nicole has a marketing perspective from both a professional organization and a collegiate setting that will benefit our outreach and initatives,” said Fournier.

“As a graduate of WSU she understands our audience, our unique challenges, and has the experience and enthusiasm to develop and manage our approaches to increase our fan base and energize our supporters.”

Blaszczyk has spent the last 21 months as the marketing coordinator for the Detroit Tigers.

She earned her bachelor's degree in business administration/marketing from Wayne State in 2011.

Blaszczyk was selected Miss Michigan for 2009 and was the 2010 Miss America talent award winner in the dance category. This was this first talent award for the state of Michigan in 25 years and the first in Miss America history awarded for a lyrical performance.

A native of Detroit, she graduated from Novi High School before enrolling at WSU.
