Lowell Blanchard Track Graphic

Photo Gallery  |  Video Tour

The track was built in 2006 in honor of Dr. Lowell Blanchard, a WSU track star from 1924-26, who credited his success as a medical doctor to help overcome his speech impediment.  He went on to deliver over 5,000 babies as a pediatrician in Jackson, Mich.  The current polyurethane surfacing was added in 2011 with support from a five-year Wayne County grant.  The University and surrounding community utilize the facility for a variety of activities.

Lowell Blanchard Track sits within Tom Adams Field and goes around the football playing surface.
